Homes for sale and rent in Vari

Vari lies at the southern foot of Mount Hymettus, inland from Varkiza and about 25 km from central Athens. Together with Voula and Vouliagmeni it forms one municipality, and it is the part with the most open land.

The town centre is known across Athens for its grill houses and tavernas. Around it, residential neighbourhoods spread over the slopes, with detached houses, maisonettes and low-rise apartment buildings, much of it built in recent decades. Plots are generally larger than on the coast, and gardens and pools are more common.

Vari’s appeal is space for the money. Buyers usually get more square metres and more land than in Voula or Glyfada, with Varkiza’s beaches a few minutes’ drive away.

A car is essential. The road through Koropi gives a direct route towards the airport, and the coastal road is close. Most errands are a short drive rather than a walk.
