Homes for sale and rent in Elliniko

Elliniko lies between Alimos and Glyfada, next to the site of Athens’ former international airport, which closed in 2001. That site is being redeveloped as The Ellinikon, a mixed-use project with homes, offices and a large Metropolitan Park along the coast.

Today’s housing stock is in the established neighbourhoods inland of the old airfield. Most of it is apartments in low and mid-rise blocks, with some maisonettes and older detached houses, particularly in Ano Elliniko. The municipality is shared with Argyroupoli, which continues the residential area up towards Mount Hymettus.

Elliniko metro station, the southern end of Line 2, connects directly to the city centre. The coastal road and the tram run along the seafront, and Glyfada’s shops are a few minutes away.

The redevelopment is the main reason people look here now. Construction will continue for years, so buyers weigh nearby works against the long-term change in the area.
