Homes for sale and rent in Anavyssos

Anavyssos lies on a wide bay south of Saronida, about 50 km from central Athens, in the Saronikos municipality. The bay is shallow and sheltered, with long beaches. The area is also known for its old salt pans and for the Anavyssos Kouros, the archaic statue found here and now in the National Archaeological Museum.

The coastline has distinct parts. Agios Nikolaos has a small harbour and seafront tavernas. Mavro Lithari is a rocky stretch with coves and holiday homes. The town centre sits slightly inland, with shops and services.

Housing is mostly detached houses and maisonettes, many first built as summer homes, on plots typically larger than on the northern Riviera. Prices per square metre are generally lower than in Voula or Vouliagmeni, which is a main reason buyers look this far south.

The coastal road leads to Sounion in one direction and back towards Athens in the other. A car is needed for almost everything.
